Cat Eye Contact Lenses - and Pictures

By

Cat eye contact lenses can be chosen to give you the perfect touch with your feline costume or crazy look that you are trying to achieve.

Nowadays you can get cat eye contact lenses with or without a prescription. It is recommended however to have been previously fitted for contact lenses and even have a prescription for color lenses if possible. The last thing you want if to cause damage to your eyes, which would be permanent if not treated. Lots of special effects seen in movies and videos are the result of specially designed contact lenses. Online you will find a wonderful variety of options with excellent prices. Many times the contact lens color is only darker over the pupil and lighter everywhere else, getting the desired look you need.

Perfect for you costume!

Most of the time people look for cat eye contact lenses and other crazy and fun contact lens designs when wearing a costume. They are really good when you are wearing a cat costume or different other animals or monsters for that matter. Costs associated with these contact lenses are many times comparable to what you usually pay for any color contact lens. Nowadays many companies include costume contact lenses in their product line, companies like Ciba Vision, Marietta Vision and many others.

Some of the latest contacts available include one that'll make you look like an avatar or even like a vampire. Darker, totally black or red are considered Gothic most of the time

Remember the following when getting cat eye contact lenses:

  • Contact lenses used for costumes can still be dangerous if you are not careful and follow the basic instructions. All contact lenses to be worn require a medical prescription, but chances are you already wear contact lenses. Keep this in mind:
  • Get a contact lens prescription if don't already have one.
  • Do not share contact lenses with other people.
  • Only wear your contact lenses up to max amount of time indicated by your doctor or by the lens manufacturer.
  • Wear the lenses a few days before to get used to them.
  • Buy contact lens drops to keep handy in case your eyes get dry.
  • Wash your hands properly before handling the lenses.
  • Do not fall asleep with the contact lenses in, this could very easily happen if you are tired or drunk.
  • Be careful not to scratch your eye when removing the lense (I always look up and move the lense down before attempting to remove it).
  • Go to your doctor or vision care provider immediately if your eyes hurt, are sensitive to light or experience discomfort (you will most likely need anti-biotics), if you have had contacts before, you know what I'm talking about.
  • Have fun and make sure to take lots of pictures.

Buying Cat eye contact lenses

Go to your vision care service provider and ask them for a copy of your prescription. Once you have it you are free to shop online and order the lenses. You might want to make sure you are buying your lenses from a reputable source. Don't buy the novelty contact lenses if they don't ask you for a prescription. You can also ask the provider if the lenses are approved by the FDA. The lenses must fit comfortably, hence the importance of trying them a few days before wearing the costume. You might not want to remove them so as not to ruin your costume, but that could cause serious problems. You can have your lenses fitted at the vision center where you usually buy your regular contacts.

Great looking article on Halloween cat eye lenses!

How do I keep them from rotating when on my eye? They look cool when I first put them in then they slowly rotate and eventually are horizontal instead of vertical.

seryhu 19 months ago

I would suggest going back to where you got them fitted. If you didn't, then you might be better off getting better ones. You can always call and ask the place where you bought them too.
